Cindy began her recovery career in 2008 at The Retreat, teaching women about the signs and effects of domestic violence, conducting support groups and developing life skill programs for women living in domestic violence shelters. In 2010, she founded The Recovery Coach NY, built on the program she developed based on the philosophical theory of holism: “The system as a whole determines in an important way how the parts behave”. With Cindy’s method the entire support system is worked with and treated with individual and family education.

As a Case Manager, Recovery and Lifestyle Coach and Interventionist, Cindy facilitates the actions necessary to aid individuals in remaining free from the chaos and disruption that drugs, alcohol and other self harming actions or addictions can create.

Cindy received her Intervention training from Brad Lamm and Judith Landau, Motivational Interviewing Levels I & II training with Dr. Jonathan Fader, CRAFT training by Dr. Robert Myers and Harm Reduction training with Dr. Andrew Tatarsky. She has been a faculty lecturer at Adelphi University School of Social Work – Post Graduate Program in Addictions, is on the Board of Center of Motivation and Change Berkshires and is the 2014 recipient of the Caron Addiction Professional of the Year. In 2017, Cindy was invited to speak in Tel Aviv at the “Women's Conference at the Front: A Day of Power and Inspiration” by Saloona, the leading women's web magazine and blogging platform in Israel. The topic of her talk: “From Surviving to Thriving and the Journey Between”.
